Check out this inspiring and award-winning documentary that uses the cargo bike as a vehicle for exploring parenthood in this digital age of climate change!

Filmmaker Liz Canning cycled everywhere until she had twins in 2008. Motherhood was challenging but to Liz, hauling babies via car felt stifling. She Googled `family bike` and uncovered a global movement of people replacing cars with cargo bikes: long-frame bicycles designed for carrying heavy loads. Liz set out to learn more, and MOTHERLOAD was born.

Your $10 ticket will give you:

  • Access to watch this documentary over a 48 period  (from 7 pm Wednesday, 30 September to 7 pm Friday, 2 October)

  • A link via Crowdcast to participate in a live, virtual Q and A (Friday, October 2 at 7 pm) with director Liz Canning, and three other guest panel members: Anna Lamb-Yorski, President of the West Kootenay Cycling Coalition. Colin Stein, Executive Director of the BC Cycling Coalition, and local cargo biking mother of two, Nadine BenRabha.

  • **Please note - this event is being hosted through a US platform and the $7.50 USD ticket cost you will see is meant to equal the $10 Canadian ticket fee. We are working on updating this to reflect Canadian dollars. Thank you for your patience.

The West Kootenay Cycling Coalition is hosting this film as one of our events for Go By Bike Week this fall. For up to date information about this and other events during Go By Bike Week, visit our Facebook Page.
